How accurate is the step counting?

What Factors Can Affect the Device's Step Counting Accuracy?

The built-in accelerometer and algorithms in the device are highly sensitive. When you first connect the device with the app, it’s crucial to enter your information accurately, including your gender, height, weight, age, and blood pressure. Any inaccuracies can affect the accelerometer's data detection and, in turn, the algorithm's calculations. This may lead to inaccurate step counts, distance measurements, and calorie expenditure, impacting your personal exercise data. Additionally, factors like your arm swing, stride length, surface unevenness, and inclines can also affect step count accuracy.

Why Is the Device Not Counting Steps Even Though I’m Walking?

To minimize errors, the device has a threshold of 20 initial steps before it starts counting. It only begins tracking steps when the real-time step count exceeds 20. This means the app will not show a change in real-time steps until after the first 20 steps, and it will store data only after 30 steps have been counted.
